I love books. Hardbacks and paperbacks, old or new, big and small. I wanted a place in my living room that would truly honor their presence.
Adrian not only built me a very beautiful bookcase unit, but was there all the way to help in the design both aesthetically and functionally. Simply put, starting out I wanted a simple bookcase, but on completion I was presented with an area in my
living room that not only housed my books and odd statue or two, but a construction that reflected my personality and became one with the living room.
We think we know what we want, but given Adrian's skill, eye for detail, and obvious experience, by the end of the job I had something more than I could have thought possible, while being able to stay within my budget. In a word, Adrian was able to allow me see the potential of what a seemingly simple bookcase area could be i.e., had I thought about lights that might bring the housed objects to life and give the room a certain mood, wood design and thickness, department areas for statues and wotnots, both in height and width, so as to breakup the formality of 'just books', while at the same time taking into account functionality via wood type and strength for added longevity. I even managed to fit a drinks cabinet with inner lighting and metal mesh-auto close doors into the lower half. On reflection, truly bespoke to my needs, wants... and the odd whim.
What I have now is something that transcends much more than a bookcase. It's a piece of personalised furniture that gives me joy, which is also 100% functional, but without breaking the bank - all thanks to Adrian's guidance, - said guidance I might add being something lacking in other bigger manufacturers, I found.
My advice would be, don't just tell Adrian what you want, however basic. Instead, discuss with him your vision and allow Adrian and his expertise build it to its full and deserving potential.

When we were building our home a lot of the joinery required was bespoke and after careful consideration we awarded the contract to Adrian on the basis of the quality of the work and the attention to detail. It was even more important that this aspect of the build be to the highest possible standard as we were making a feature of solid oak doors and beams throughout the house. All the work was delivered on time and on budget and we would have no hesitation in recommending Adrian in the future.
